The “alias” status indicates that the identified installation is a copy of already existing WordPress instance on the list. For example, a multi-site with sub-domains setup may have 10 sites but essentially they are all one physical WordPress instance.
To avoid additional charges for such setup, we capture unique WordPress instance ID which is just a hash of a word “aam” generated by WordPress core function wp_hash.
Aliases do not affect your billing or license limit and they also cannot be deactivated or removed. They stay on the list of license installations only for reference.
